Can someone please look up the Sqn and fate for Bristol Fighter H1426
I have dug out the following report from the British Newspaper Archives (see research forum)
Nottingham Evening Post
Sat 20 Jan 1923
Nottinghamshire, England
AEROPLANE CRASHES
65 Words
“AEROPLANE CRASHES. BUT PILOT ESCAPES WITH BROKEN NOSE. An aeroplane from Kenley, piloted by Charles Stevens, crashed in Ladywell Recreation Ground, Lewisham, this morning The machine turned turtle and fell on the bank of the stream, which runs through the open space, after breaking boughs from trees on the bank. Stevens, who sustained broken nose, was conveyed to hospital. His home is in Paignton, Devon."
I believe this to be H1426 Bristol Fighter which crashed at Lewisham on 20 Jan 1923 - But the Sqn should confirm it!
Thanks
Paul
