Hello all,

This can be a coincidence:

Aircraftman 1st Class Francis A. Kealy, RAAF 5344, [1 Recruit Depot Laverton], age 20, 28/05/1940, Cheltenham New General Cemetery, Australia
Place of Death: Caulfield. Cause of Death: Illness

Flight Sergeant Richard C. Davenport, RAAF 606, [21 Sqn], age 37, 29/05/1940, Fawkner Memorial Park Cemetery, Australia
Place of Death: Caulfield. Cause of Death: Illness

Or was there some sort of epidemic in Caulfield?

Regards,

Bart

Bart,

Neither man's service record has been digitized yet, so no score there. If the 'Caulfield' you refer to is the Caulfield Repatriation Hospital, Melbourne I don't think it unusual that people would be dying there :)

Hello Ken,

Thanks - if the 'Caulfield' I stumbled upon is indeed the 'Caulfield Repatriation Hospital, Melbourne' the dying there would be quite 'normal'. It could also explain the death of this man:

Aircraftman 1st Class Roy R. Hopkin, RAAF 15371, [1 Engineering School Ascot Vale], age 28, 26/06/1940, Botany General Cemetery, Australia
Place of Death: Melbourne. Cause of Death: Illness

regards,

Bart
