Bart

The 28 Sqn ORBs from June 40 makes no mention of his death. As all minor aircraft accidents are mentioned, So I take it that this is a non-aviation related death.

There are no deaths recorded in the months of May and June, but the following entry is found in July 40 -

"21.7.40 LAC Ross died at MIRANSHAH and was buried at BANNU on the 22nd."

I know not related to your query but gives a flavour of what is there in the ORB.

Thanks Jagan,

I'm looking into the losses of the RAF, RNZAF, RCAF, RAAF and SAAF in May and June 1940 - LAC H.T. Jones is - as far as I know - for this period the only casualty in the India area, and that's why I am interested in him and in 28 Squadron: http://www.epibreren.com/ww2/raf/28_squadron.html
