What caused the death of and what was the place of death registration for:

AC1 John C. SHEPPARD - 1130917 - not listed Flight archives.

Hi Henk
Sheppard.23, is registered at Fylde which is the Office that would cover Blackpool(Squires Gate) and Warton and I am sure there others in that part of Lancashire.

It might be worth noting that Sgt Smith (N3048) was shot down on 4 September 1940, dying of his injuries two days later.

Fw Gerhard SCHUMANN Gunner of Bf110D-0 ‘3U + HR’ of 7/ZG 26. Shot down by fighters.

Fw Ernst HEMPEL Pilot of Bf109E-4 shot down over Thames Estuary exploding in mid-air and crashing at Kings North Marshes, River Medway, Kent.

Uffz Christoph KIEHN Pilot of Bf110C-4 ‘3U + CL’ of 3./ZG 26. Shot down by fighters of 111 Squadron over Brooklands, crashing at Cannons Hill Golf Course, Coulsdon, Surrey.

Uffz Rudolf ROTH Radio Operator of Bf110C-4 ‘3U+CA’ of Stab/ZG 26. Engine caught fire causing aircraft to crash into sea off Dover. Body recovered 30/10/1940. Pilot POW.

Arthur Reynard 1174649 , attached to Number 6 SOTT , was admitted seriously ill to RAF Hospital, Cosford on 3 September, where he died of Ludwig's Angina
