Hi Henk
These are a bit of a puzzle. Jewell,26, is registered at W Ham which is in E London and counts as being part of Essex but it is still difficult to suggest an airfield but the Docks in London were being bombed by day during this period. Stotter, 20, is registered at Newton but I can't locate it in the list of Registry Offices.
Regards
Dick

Buchan doi after Hurricane V4706 hit a crane. The pilot 73040 R. Ambrose was killed.

Hurricane of Wendel should read L1615

Lerwick or Hurricane V7254? Lerwick serial possibly L5254

The error regarding F/O Mitchell stems from TNA: https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C16472280
where (yet again) an error has been made with the serial. It was indeed Hurricane V7254.
The database automatically scoops this wrong serial and attaches itself to the wrong aircraft.
I will correct this shortly.
