What caused the death of and what were the places of death registration for:
AC2 George E.K. BARNABY - 1255097 - killed on active service, and
AC2 William S. CURRIE - 1004888 - 946 (Balloon) Sqn - not listed Flight archives.
It's known that aerodromes Detling and West Malling were attacked by the Luftwaffe.
Proposed aircraft losses for this day:
Oxford II - N4796 - 2 FTS - dived into ground Eynsham Hall Park, Oxfordshire
(already have as a casualty on this aircraft: Sgt [Pilot u/t] Dennis H. REES - 745342)
Magister I - N3966 - 24 EFTS - flew into ground Cheddington, Bedfordshire.
Regards and thanks for your help.

Hi Henk
CURRIE, possibly died in Scotland as he doesn't appear on the lists that I look through and I see that CWGC has his Unit as 946 Balloon Sqn which was Glasgow based. BARNABY,25 is registered at Poplar in London's East End. His unit is given as 229 Sqn which was at Northolt on the other side of London and too far away for a registration at Poplar but it is not impossible that RAF personnel were taken from Airfields around London to assist in Rescue in the City where the Docks were being bombed

Thanks Amrit and Dick. Could find CURRIE using the given website; strange however that I don't get a match searching for his servicenumber 1004888 (and this number is correctly mentioned in Flight archive).
Regards,
Henk.

Thanks Andy. Must have happened accidentally and not by enemy action as he's listed 'died' on active service.
Regards,
Henk.
