All trying to ID the crash of a Vickers Wellesley Bomber Crash at Alverston, Bristol on May 13th 1938. Pilot Flight-Lieutenant C. A. Washer OK, A civilian observer from Bristols Peter H. Warren aged 23 was killed. It may be one of the experiemental Wellesleys K7717, K7736, K7740, K7772 or K7791

Can't give you the number but it was one of the experimental ones flying from Filton. Quite a long item in The Times the following day. Unconnected with the accident, there is a good photo pf the pilot at http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1938/1938%20-%202881.html?search=Washer
Strangely Flight doesn't report the accident, there's simply a broef note congratulating him on hos escape.

Air Britain K numbers shows K7717 struck off charge 13.5.38, whilst in hands of Bristol.
The others you mentioned all soldiered on after this date.
Guess thats a pretty good case!

(I had pencilled in K7717 as strong possibility based on is Filton History, but good to see AB dates match)
