I enjoyed reading this one as it explained a lot about why the US Air Force was the way it was and continued to be throughout its first decades.

It's not about the RAF, but it is a nice contrast to the early history of the RFC, which had a lot going for it, compared to what the Americans were able to do in the period 1914-1918.
