Raf in india

My father was posted to HQ 175 Wing in India on 18.12.42.

Can anyone help me with information on this?

"RAF Flying and Training Support Units" has 175 Wing based at Cuttack at that time (General Reconnaisance, later naval co-operation) Wing in 221 Group.

Hope this is a useful start point for you.

Bit hazy but 99 and 215 squadrons appear to have been in the Wing with Wellingtons.

And later on it seems 175 Wing were at Dhubalia flying Liberators - now in 231 Grp. Yr Father's Service Record should give you the dates when he moved wherever. They will be lots of acronyms and shortened Unit names, but there are a whole host of experts on the Forum that will help you decode them all
