Does anyone have the ORB for 4 FTS, Abu Sueir, for the period 1935-1936, please, that could tell me if postings-in are listed for courses, and if so, if one 563510 (or 563150) Albert Harris is listed?

Aternatively, if names are not listed but Harris was awarded his pilot badge and promoted to Sgt Plt on 3 April 1936, is it possible to deduce which course he may have been on?

He was posted to 41 Sqn in Aden on 5 July 1936, leaving a three-month gap between pilot badge and first operational posting. Was he retained as a staff pilot for a period, perhaps, or did the course continue after the award of his flying badge?

Thanks
Steve

Steve
I have a full copy of the ORB.
I can't find your man listed (no list of pupils included) but I think he was part of 32nd Course.
The ORB states" The 32nd course completed training on 2 April 1936, with the exception of APO Cooke who was retained for futher training in aerobatics.
The 'Passing Out' inspection was carried out by AOC ACM Sir Robert Brooke-Popham."

Steve
The start date of 32nd course is not recorded in the ORB.
The first mention is in Jan 1936 when it was recorded that " The pupils of 32nd Course are making satisfactory progress and have all flown solo on Audex Aircraft"

Hi Steve

Accoding to the AFLs there were courses beginning: -

8 Sep 1934
1 Feb 1935
23 Nov 1935

so for a group going solo prior to Jan 1936 the last one might be the most probable.

Thanks for checking Andy

Thanks Malcolm; I appreciate the dates. I think you're right, the course starting in Nov 35 fits best

Steve

Steve, I do know you started the thread, but today, while researching I found it.
I do have a particular interest, as you, on the ORB which Andy INGHAM says he has. I tried to contact him, sending a private message but was unable to do so.
Does someone has his email for contact?
Andy Ingham, could you contact me on: baumgartner_asv@yahoo.com.br

I am looking for the dates and Course attended by one particular pilot.
Yours most sincerely,
Adriano S. Baumgartner
