All

I have recently obtained a list of Irvin Caterpillar members upto 1940 and am working through it bit by bit. Unfortunately it only gives a year and a name not the full date. The list does appear to be chronological though by county

between P/O James Anderson Thomson July 3, 1937 Gloster Gladiator K7953 Debden

and A/C.1 Leslie Broadbent Wilson September 2, 1937 Vickers Vildebeest K4588 Bridlington,Yorks is the name

F/Lt Balmer there could of course be a typo or incorrect rank but I cannot find any F/Lt Balmer for the RAF in 1937 I don't suppose anyone has a loss between these dates that could be a candidate? or a suggestion for F/Lt Balmer ?

Flight has Royal Aero Certificate #16,732 issued to John Hawes Balmer in 8.12.38 at London

I do not have a Air Force List for 1937 so can't see if a F/Lt Balmer (or any Balmer) was on reserve list

A bit of a mystery there are a few others but at least fro those I can have a punt at the name

Heres hoping

Paul

PS I will get the list scanned as a PDF so if anyone wants a copy I can supply one

Thanks

paul
