Hi,

I wondered if anyone had any infomation on the crash of a 139 Squadron Blenheim. The crash occurred on 10th May 1938 and I believe it was piloted by P/O. I. J. Fawdry.

All the info I can get using google is that the a/c. crashed near Godmanchester, Huntingdonshire and the other occupent was P/O. Colin James Carr Lee.

Many thanks in advance,

Russ

Russ

I have this as a Magister L5948 of Wyton Station Flight. The accident is briefly reported in The Times of 11/5/1938 where the aircraft, although not specified, is described as ' a two seat training machine'.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for that, it was indeed Magister L5948. I have just invested in the 139 Squadron ORB and it is mentioned in there although no cause in indicated.

Thanks again,

Russ

Hello Russ,

Details of this incident are contained in AiB AVIA report W602 (L5948 Magister I 10/05/1938) in the NA.

Sadly I do not have a copy to share detail.

Regards,

Ian
