Flying Officer Samuel J Proctor Died 1-30th September 1931 Maala cemetery Yemem/Aden

Can anyone ID this man you is buried in Maala cemetery Yemem/Aden?

He is not on the pre-war RAF Officer Loss list on this site

He may be PROCTER but I cannot ID him at all, He is one of two outstanding Officers I have for this Cemetery. See other post for second

Not an answer to your post, but do you have or need any information on 41 Sqn air gunners AC1s Francis Allday and Allan S. Bailey KIFA 9 June 1936, also buried in Maala? I have the AM1180 if you would like a copy. Also, 12 Sqn's Fg Off Denis H. Spencer KIFA in a 41 Sqn aircraft on 18 July 1936? Contact me off-board at brew AT clients DOT ch, if interested.

Thanks for info on Aircraftman 1st Class, Francis Allday, 514998 and Aircraftman 1st Class, Allan Sanderson Bailey 665066 - I know they were killed in the Collision of Demons K4534 and K4535 of 41 Sqn at Sheikh Othman, Yemen on this date, the Pilots P/O Edward Graham and P/O John Athelstan Richards escaping by parachute. I don't suppose you can place Allday and Bailey on which aircraft and along with Graham and Richards could you ?

Spencer is interesting

I believe Spencer was on DEMON K4541 of 41 Sqn on 18 July 1936 - His CWGC cemetery record says '8 Sqn' should it be 12 Sqn attached 41 sqn? - what is interesting is that next on list is Flying Officer, Eric William Spencer "12 Sqdn" killed 24 June 36

Graham, Edward Demon I K.4536 NI Manoeuvred to take up same position, MAC at 5,000 ft., Aden
Allday, Francis Demon I K.4536 KFA Manoeuvred to take up same position, MAC at 5,000 ft., Aden

Richards, John A. Demon I K.4535 NI Manoeuvred to take up same position, MAC at 5,000 ft., Aden
Bailey, Allan S. Demon I K.4535 KFA Manoeuvred to take up same position, MAC at 5,000 ft., Aden

Would you like a copy of the AM1180's?

David Barnes on Air Force Deaths confirms him as

Flying Officer Samuel John Proctor

However I now need to see if I can find him on London Gazette!

I wonder if this Australian is him

Though at around 59 in 1931 he maybe too old

Update Probably NOT his file is digitized on the Australian Archives and reveals he was discharged in 1919

Definitely not your man ! 1128/3270 Samuel John PROCTOR 1st AIF, passed away on 27th August, 1940 at the Devon Public Hospital, Latrobe, Tasmania. He is buried in the Carr Villa Cemetery, Launceston, Tasmania.

Thanks I found a dentist called Samuel John Proctor in 1925 he may be him but weird no London Gazette hits or Flight Hits it was definitely his name

There was a S S Proctor MB but that was Sydney Smith Proctor
