'PLANE DOWN IN SEA
Two Men Rescued From Wings Royal Air Force 'plane came down in the sea
about eight miles off Bridlington, last night, and two men were brought ashore. Fishermen reported that they saw an
airman come down parachute-
The two occupants were rescued by a Royal Air Force motor launch after climbing out on the

An eye-witness said that he saw the aeroplane flying low as if coming from Bridlington when the engine began to
misfire. It glided down on to the water which was quite calm. Mr Joseph Boyes, of Skipsea, said that when the aeroplane
touched the water it began settle down at once and the men in climbed to the wings. A few moments after the airmen had been
taken aboard the launch, the 'plane sank. The launch proceeded to Bridlington after firing a locket to indicate that the men were sate.
Efforts salvage aeroplane were made last night. ...
