What caused the death of and/or what was the place of death registration for:

AC2 Albert C. POTTIER - 1359646 - killed on active service.

A possible aircraft could be:
Anson I - N5118 - 4 AONS - flew into ground North Kilworth, Leics.

Regards and thanks for your help.
Henk.

Hi Henk
This could be a sad one as Pottier,29, is registered in Hackney in E London but there are also registrations for an Ethel Pottier,31, and Valerie, 1, so he might have been caught at home on leave and with his family. Ethel's entry on CWGC says she was Albert's wife and he was killed in the same incident at Holly St., Hackney
Regards
Dick

This really is a sad story; so many innocent people killed. And it will never end............... Yesterday there was a ceremony held in Holland and the 4-Star General Van Uhm became Chief Defence Staff of the Netherlands Forces. Last night his son Lt Van Uhm was killed in Afghanistan by a verge bomb and also a Corporal; two severely injured in their open Mercedes jeep returning from a patrol; the fourth vehicle in the column after three other armed vehicles had passed the spot.
We will remember them !
Henk.
