Does anyone have any info on RAF Peshawar, NWF Province of India, 1944-1947?

My father, 525273 Sgt Ron Curtis, Airframe Fitter, was stationed there but I cannot find much info as to what aircraft/squadrons/units were there at that time.

Cheers,

Hi
From RAF Squadrons , C G Jefford, Peshawar was "host" at various times to several Sqns.
Nos 5,20,27,28,31,34,39,60,155,and 659. Many of them were WW1, WW2,the interwar years and post WW2 depending how long the airfield was in existence. In common with most RAF Stations it would probably have had it's own Station Flight and may have been home to an RAF Wing or HQ. 5 Sqn, for example, was there in 1947, 20 Sqn at various periods in the 1920's and WW2. The full details can be found if you can get a look at Jefford's book which was published in 1988 and could be got via your Library
