Hi Henk
Knowles,20, is registered at Ploughley, Oxfordshire, Tooth,29, is registered at Chippenham Wiltshire which could put him on the Anson at Laycock, and Whittington, 23, is registered at Warwick which is right for a death at Baginton.
Regards
Dick

A/C.2 S. Knowles. 1106586; is listed killed on active service in Decemebr 5th 1940 Flight Magazine. There is a little piece of the 8 missing so his number is scanned as 1106536.
Can't find Whittington though.

Thanks Dennis for info on KNOWLES. Still can't match him to an a/c serial. Killed on active service however also could have been 'killed in air raid'.

Henk.

Henk, fresh update.
A thought I had the Am1180 for L8154 from Hendon, however it seems likely that I've been copied the front page of L8154 and the back page of the Magister P2447. I assume P2447 is on the microfilm behind L8154 and the staff have made an error and copied me the wrong back page.
The only info on the pilot of L8154 I now have is him as "LAC Watson" and him surviving.
Sorry to mislead you.. and myself !!
regards Rich

I've got both sides of that card the details off the back give LAC M T Watson, 1165649, 24 hours on type (and total experience), nothing for that service number on Geoff's SE or the LG.

The Home Security Daily Intelligence Reports for November 3, 1940 (National Archives HO203/5) include details of an air raid on Kidlington aerodrome in Oxfordshire and an "RAF casualty". By my reckoning, Kidlington would fit with Ploughley, so AC2 Knowles is likely to be this casualty. Thanks to everyone on this forum for all of their hard work, and I'm happy to be able to contribute in a small way.
