The following photo refers to F/L Alexander Conway Blythe (66567) - born in Winnipeg, 1921; home in Swindon, Wiltshire; enlisted for aircrew, 1940, commissioned 1941. The picture was taken in the India/Burma theatre during medical evacuation. Can anyone identify the squadron with which he would have been serving at this time ?

RCAF photo PL-27014 (ex UK-9074 dated 21 March 1944) - “Flight Lieutenant Alex Blythe and his crew at the forward fighter strip at which the refueling was made. Left to right is the navigator, Warrant Officer J. Edmonson, London, England; wireless operator Flight Sergeant Barrat, London; the wireless air gunner, Sergeant Tom Casey, Durham, County Durham; Flight Lieutenant A. Blythe of Winnipeg and Toronto; and Flight Lieutenant J. Norris, Engineering Officer, from Cumberland.” The person writing the caption notes of Blythe, “last eleven years in Liverpool, would you call him a Canadian ?” Blythe soon goes to Britain to take part in Normandy Arnhem operations; DFC with No.437 Squadron, Bar to DFC in 1951 for operations in Malaya with No.45 Squadron.
