Hall was flying RB210 on an air test, the crash was located by a Tiger Moth after he was declared overdue.

The 60 OTU ORB gives a list of those onboard MK890:

January 13th 1945, “During the early hours, while the night flying programme for the 12th was being carried out, an Anson aircraft MK 890, while on a training flight, crashed. W/O Russell, the pilot, P/O Lovatt, the Navigation Instructor, and the following Navigators under instruction, lost their lives in the accident: P/O’s Margrie, Langston, Tinkess and Sgt E.G. Williams. A Mosquito aircraft (NS 996) failed to return from an exercise carried out as part of the night flying programmes for the 12th. The pilot was F/L Mackenzie and P/O J.G. Faragher was Navigator.”
