Walter Slater 52094 , a technical officer attached to AHQ SE Asia, died on duty of an accidental gunshot wound at Tabinguang, Burma

Henry Christopher Shrubsole 102179 , the CO of Number 10 Transit Camp at Dehra Dun, was taken seriously ill whilst at Number 4 Hill Depot and was admitted to Number 136 Indian General hospital on 21 January., where he died at 12:30 Hours of auricular fibrillation. He was buried at Chakrata cemetery as he had requested

Stephen Smythies 2228958 , was involved in a minor motorcycle accident in which he broke his nasal bone and septum and developed cellulitis of the face. Discharged on 1 January after treatment involving sulphadiazine and penicillin , he was given 7 days leave before returning to unit. When he returned it was noted his manner had changed and he was careless and disinterested . 3 days before he was admitted to hospital again, he had vomited and complained of a headache . He deteriorated and was operated upon and two frontal lobe abscesses were found but despite further treatment he died
