Hello,
15 February, 1945 (Thursday).
21 (P)AFU (RAF Peplow, Shropshire - Satellite to RAF Wheaton Aston, Staffordshire).
Oxford I NM305
Servicing Training.
Crashed at Tern Hill's Stoke Heath site at 12.15 hrs. After the weather deteriorated badly, during the course of the flight the pilot diverted to Tern Hill airfield. However, as he approached through thick fog, he was suddenly confronted by a hangar looming ahead and, with the engines throttled back for landing, the aircraft stalled as he tried to avoid the building, and crashed.
