What caused the death of and/or what were the places of death registration for:
AC1 William E.R. FEW - 1157195 - killed on active service;
AC2 Sidney GARRAWAY - 1164531 - 6 BC, 917 (Balloon) Sqn, Coventry, Birmingham - killed on active service;
AC1 Thomas G. ROBERTS - 852043 - same unit as Garraway - died of wounds or injuries received on active service, and
LAC Norman D. STEELE - 923659 - killed on active service.
It's known that military personnel were killed as a bomb hit the Rialto Cinema at Coventry.
Proposed aircraft losses for this day:
Anson I - N9858 - 10 FTS - flew into high ground Wildboarclough, near Macclesfield, Cheshire (already as a casualty on this aircraft: LAC [Pilot] Martin J.W. TAYLOR - 915786).
Battle I - L5303 - 7 FTS - abandoned Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire.
Hart Trainer - K4769 - 9 FTS - crashed in forced landing Whitchurch, Warts.
Harvard I - N7089 - 15 EFTS - crashed on approach Weston-on-the-Green.
Regards and thanks for your help.
Henk.
Hi Henk
Few,20 is registered at Lambeth, S Central London just S of the Thames. Roberts,30 is registered at Coventry but I didn't find Garraway. If memory is right 14/11/40 was the night of the Air raid that devasted Coventry. Steele,18, is registered at Stratford so if you meant Whitchurch Warks.(Warwickshire) it could put him in the Hart, K4769

Dick,
Whitchurch, Warts (as it's in the Aeromilitaria List "UK Crashes WW2" of Air Britain). Do believe that Warts is not a correct abbreviation for Warwickshire and must be Warks. However, LAC Norman Denis STEELE, RAFVR 923659, age not listed by CWGC, is missing and his name commemorated on Panel 290 of the Runnymede Memorial. Death registered at Stafford means that the body must have been identified ! For the time being will keep his name on the "unaccounted list".
Regards,
Henk.

Steele must be a lost grave rather than a missing airman.
F1180 confirms Steele as pilot of Hart Trainer - K4769
