As Diamond was in the RAF Police then he would have been an Acting Cpl but a substantive LAC so that fits

LAC Cook and AC1 McMillan were killed when Halifax NR282 of 1652 CU swung on take off from Marston Moor and crashed into the stationary Halifax LK786. ORB describes Cook as an FMA and McMillan FME, both were changing a wheel on LK786 when the accident happened.

Joseph Francis Diamond , 1795097 ( aged 23 ) , attached to RAF Police at HQ Number 84 Group, died in an ambulance en route to hospital in Breda of injuries sustained in a road accident

James Henry Hatton 1090631 , attached to RAF Swannington , was admitted seriously ill to SSQ on 2 February, and was transferred to the Norwich & Norfolk EMS Hospital the following day. Further transferred to the St. Andrew's EMS hospital, Thorpe , on 6 February , he died of the effects of a coronary thrombosis
