What caused the death of and/or what was the place of death registration for:
AC2 Walter G. VOWLES - 1015388 - killed on active service.
Proposed aircraft loss for this day:
Master I - N7926 - 5 FTS - crashed - damaged byond repair - NFD.

Vowles was killed in an air-raid on Bristol at Clarence Road. Also killed was Ellen Vowles at the same address (though his CWGC entry doesn't say so it seems likely that Ellen was his mother).

Vowles's death registered at Bristol. A common name in this area so he may have been at home.

AC2 Walter G. VOWLES - 1015388 - the National Probate Calendar records the following:
VOWLES Walter George of 75 Stackpool Road, Southville, Bristol 3, who is believed to have been killed through was operations on 24 November 1940 and whose dead body was found on 25 November 1940 at Clarence Road, New Cut, Bristol 3.

>> Crew of Ju88A-5 0451 4U+HL of 3.(F)/123, shot down over Gloucestershire by Hurricanes of 308 Sqn. Two other crew (names unknown) also died.
SCHMITZ, Walter- GAF.
>> Crew of Do215B-4 0057 VB+KR of 2.(F)/Aufkl.Gr.Obdl, shot down into the sea off Cornwall by Spitfires of 234 Sqn. Possible that other crew members died.
GRAN, Hans - GAF.
KOCH, Gustav - GAF.
>> I couldn't find these two. They might be members of the crew of either of the above two losses.
