I have MG652 as being lost in the Irish Sea, that is certainly where No.281 Sqn were searching for it with Sea Otters for a couple of days. On the 17th wreckage was spotted which may have been associated it, though it was not confirmed.

Air Ministry Records state :-
1830 hours - leading 122 wing - armed recce over Wittenburge (East of river Elbe - NW of Berlin) ....an encounter with 7/8 FW190s at 6000 feet....followed down to low level where more FWs attacked from behind - light flak from woods at Wittenburge.

Brooker’s Tempest never located or his body. Account in Closterman’s The Big Show is not verifiable.
