Hi Henk
Craig,32, is registered at Durham S E,. 938 Balloon Sqn was based in fact at Stockton-on-Tees in County Durham in 1941,according to Sturtivant
I think the term Pupil pilot was either used when a trainee was flying with an Instructor, or was a qualified pilot training for a new a/c or task such as becoming an Instructor himself, but I expect someone has told you the answer since May!!
