CHILDS 2047042 - the Glasgow Herald of May 21st reports that she had disappeared on May 3rd while hitch-hiking from Hereford to Happisburgh, Norfolk, and her body was found on the banks of the River Nene, near Thorney, Cambridgeshire.

Scotland Yard were called in to investigate, but the case was never solved.

Contemporary newspapers report her name as Flora Ann Childs.

Ben Pagin 1391248 , attached to Number 35 GSE , was admitted dangerously ill to the Combined military hospital, Dinlore Bihar, on 15 May , where he died of acute appendicitis and bilateral lobar pneumonia

Francis Philip Sumner 1125633 , was admitted dangerously ill to Number 136 Indian General hospital at Dehradun on 7 February 1944 suffering with malaria beta thalassemia. Repatriated to the UK and admitted to the Royal Sheffield Hospital on 9 September 1944 and medically discharged, his illness sadly proved fatal

Alan Raymond Phipps 1777652 | attached to Number 5 SoTT | was admitted dangerously ill to RAF Hospital Locking on 23 April where he died of peritonitis

John Derick Alan Wright 1194511 | attached to Number 6 PDC | was a pilot on 73 Squadron when he was shot down on 3 March 1943 in the Gabes area. A telegram from the IRCC stated he had been captured on 5 March and was a POW in German hands. Liberated on 5 May 1945, he was admitted to RAF hospital Cosford where he died of respiratory paralysis secondary to acute Disseminated eucphalomyeleneuritis
