RITCHIE, Robert - AC2c - 966624 - RAFVR - Delhi War Cemetery, India.

Ritchie, Fitter IIA, died at CMH Bareilly at approx 08:30 hrs on 6th June 45. Airman had proceeded on Hill depot leave in Party no.2 but fell ill on train and was removed to CMH Bareillly on the evening of 23rd May 1945. Sucessfully operated same evening for appendicities.. Recovery was fairly normal but broncho-pneumonia set in and "he seemed to lose the will to live". Gradually became worse and at 4.30AM was adminstered oxygen with no effect.

Originally buried in the Lynchgate Cemetry, Bareilly Cantonment.

Louis Joseph Kelly J 88916 , took a corner too fast on his motorcycle as he left camp at 23:15 hours on June 4th, and crashed. Admitted to Grays EMS hospital, Elgin, he died of a ruptured right kidney and concussion .

Youseef Murad 6384 , was admitted to Number 43 general hospital in a grossly emaciated condition following a month long history of stomach pains, where he died of a primary neoplasm of the liver which had become neurotic and bled into the peritoneal cavity

George Augustus Hummerston 1079453 , attached to Number 6501 SE , was taken seriously ill at RAF Biggin Hill on 15 May and admitted to Chase Farm Hospital, Enfield where died of a cereberal abscess

Thomas Arthur Cayton 1439318, a medically discharged Airman at the time of his death, had been admitted to Number 41 General hospital in the Middle East on 24 October 1943, and was evacuated to the UK on 1 March 1944. He died of pulmonary tuberculosis
