Hi Henk
George L Hill,29, and John H Hill,41, are registered in Lewisham in S London.Savage is registered at Buckrose in E Yorkshire which includes Driffield,Finnen does not come up and might be in Scotland where his Unit was based. David Williams is more difficult as it is a very common Welsh name. I found 3 likely candidates
David Williams,40, Merioneth North, N W Wales
David Williams, 47, Birmingham
David Williams47, Neath, S Wales.
CWGC does not gave any age

Dick

Hi Henk

I have a note on file that Savage was stationed at Topcliffe. As you know he is buried at Driffield however which might suggest a death at home?

Cheers

Eddie

Hello I was just googling on the internet and came across your messages on this site. The Alfred Savage you mention is my dad's Uncle. He did die in Driffield and is buried there. He was at home when the base was bombed and he went to help and according the family information. A board fell on his his and when he came home he complained of a headache and went to bed and he died.

Flight are missing a page of the March 13th magazine, the latter part of Casualty list 61.

Stand out names in the list are:
P/O- L. M. Blanckensee, 41248
F/O. R. II. De Montmorency, 33185;

Incase anyone has access to the Times casualty lists, it might contain the missing names from above.

And Thanks Anne, it is fitting to learn how one of the unknown's passed away.

The scanned flight magazines have page 214 up to about the missing in action names and then an advertisement, there are no DOAS KOAS names in that magazine. The advertisement pages are not normally numbered.
