William Gordon Walker R 170529 | was swimming off duty at 18:30 Hours in Rainbow Haven, Cow Bay, N.S, at the YMCA camp, when he was caught in a strong undertow and drowned. He was washed up on the beach at Rainbow Haven at approximately 06:00 Hours on 12 August.
Erhardt George Wagner R 165690 | was drowned in the same location under the same circumstances, his body being found on August 22 at the flats at Upper Laurencetown marshes
After these events it was ruled that bouys and notices should have been promulgated and erected on the shore to warn of the dangers at this recognised swimming location and not just immediately in front of the YMCA camp as had been the case
