MELTON-SPEIRS, George - he's listed in the Scotland's People Statutory Deaths register.
He died at 11.25pm at the junction of Marmion Road and Clifford Road, North Berwick, the result of a fractured skull suffered in an accident. It doesn't state whether the accident was a road traffic accident or not. His occupation is given as Apprentice Aero Engine Fitter, R.A.F.

He seems a little old (23) to be an Apprentice?

From the Staffordshire Advertiser 18th Aug 1945. "At 1-50 am on Thursday LAC William Arthur Bradley (23) was returning along the Sandon Road to his unit when he was knocked down and fatally injured by an RAF utility van which was being driven by LAC John Albert Ferry in the direction of the town. The accident occurred at the junction of Corporation Street and Sandon Road. Bradley it is stated, was walking alone at the time"
I believe LAC Bradley was serving with 16MU Stafford at the time of his death.
