Hi,
Looking for aircraft, place and possible cause of crash of french crew Jacques WELLARD dead on 29 October 1945. Before his dead he posted at 10 (O) AFU

Halifax VI RG561 of 347 Sqn (L8-C) took off Elvington, Yorkshire, on a ferry flight to l'Armée de l'air Bordeaux-Mérignac. Pilot - Sgt-chef Paul ROQUE, 37127 - lost control on take-off and crashed Sheep Walk's Farm, Esrick near Deighton, 8 miles SE of Elvington. WELLARD baled the aircraft from a too low altitude. Sgt (Bombaimer) Henri J.A. PRADES - 36925 - dien in the crash.

Not sure whether names and matricules are correct.

LEWIS, Rose Edith - the National Probate Calendar states that she died at R.A.F. Camp Bicester.
DONOVAN, Michael - registered Isle of Wight
DUNNINGTON, Lawrence - died at the Hull Royal Infirmary after an illness.
ELLIS, Alexander - the Aberdeen Journal of October 30th 1945 reports that he died at the City hospital Aberdeen. He had a been a P.o.W of the Japanese from the fall of Singapore, and had returned to Aberdeen on October 12th 1945.
SWANNELL, Bertram George - the Bedfordshire Times and Independent of November 2nd 1945 reports the he died suddenly at the home of his mother in Bedford.

RAF Halton Roll Of Honour has
Denys Stanley Clinch Halton Entry 34 (ex 569842) now Sqn.Ldr. (46369) died 29-Oct-45 aged 26 buried Kranji War Cemetery, Singapore cause Engineering Officer. Died as a result of accident.

The Bedfordshire Times article states that Swannell had been dishcharged from the R.A.F. after an accident, and had been receiving treatment in London shortly before his sudden death.
After his discharge, he was a student at Birmingham University, where he secured a BSc. and had been teaching at Luton Technical School for some time before his death.
