PLANE LANDS SAFELY AFTER STRIKING TREE TOP.
Wing Completely Broken Away.
A Honington Pilot Officer named Watts (this would be P/O Henry Arthur Halley Watts 75 Sqn) had an amazing escape when made a forced landing
near Loiston on Monday evening. He was returning Honington living Handley-Page Harrow bomber singlehanded
and lost his way in the driving rain.
In addition, one the engines failed and was seen flying low
over house tops and showing the white distress lights. attempted
to land in field and a wing the machine struck a tree-top and was completely? assume wrecked..
Says Monday- So assume 3rd Oct 1938
Can anyone provide an serial for this aircraft it looks like a write off
Thanks
