On 15th Sept 1934 a Baffin of H.M.S. Courageous crashed thoug a stone wall during a forced landing and caught fire at Bumside Farm. Boarhills near St Andrews during heavy mist while lost

The two crew of Lieut. Cardew and Leading Telegraphist J. B. Taylor were uninjured

Can anyone identify a Baffin lost on this date ?

Thanks

Paul

Paul,

It should be pointed out that the date in A-B's K File (p.123), is at variance with your quoted date, ie: 16.9.36.

Blackburn Baffin K4080 - Deld to 810 Sqn 14.6.34 as "09". Flew into ground in fog, Boar Hill, St.Andrews, Fife, 15.9.34; DBF, SOC 29.9.34 (two other sources confirm the year as 1934).
