AUSTRALIA.

14536 F/O Arthur Frederick LEGGETT RAAF.

F/O (Signals Officer) Arthur Frederick LEGGETT RAAF (of No.2 Personnel Depot, RAAF), was admitted to No.3 RAAF Hospital, Concord, NSW, on 14th January, 1946. An operation was performed on the 6th February where a tumor was found adherent to the lung apex, subsequently he developed a mediastinitis and died at 1815 hours on the 10th February, 1946. F/O Leggett RAAF was posted to No.2 PD for discharge.

The then, Sgt (W.Op./Air Gnr.) A.F. LEGGETT RAAF, a former member of No.10 Sqn RAAF., was involved in the attack on U-663 on 7th May, 1943 (Sunderland W3993/"W" - F/L G G Rossiter RAAF).

147931 LAC Lawrence Frank Augustine McQUEEN RAAF,

147931 LAC Lawrence Frank Augustine McQUEEN RAAF (of RAAF Garbutt), fell from a landing whilst trying to board a motor boat moored at Ross Creek, Townsville, Queensland. LAC McQueen's body was never recovered. Hence, he is commemorated on the Sydney Memorial at Rookwood, Sydney, NSW.

38496 Cpl (Cook) Frederick Dorian DUNNE RAAF (of No.78 Operational Base Unit, Port Hedland), was admitted to Port Hedland Hospital, Western Australia, on 6th February, 1946, after sustaining serious injuries in a motor truck accident. He died from his injuries on 10th February, 1946.

DIXON, Edwin - Cpl - 1234515 - the Kent and Sussex Courier of February 22nd 1946 reported the following:

BURWASH CORPORAL'S DEATH
Two days after the news had been received of his mention in despatches, Corporal Edwin Dixon, R.A.F., died at his home in Burwash. Only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Dixon, of Testers Farm gained his "mention" while on duty in India and Burma, where he served for 3 1/2 years.
He returned to England in July, after several months' illness, and following treatment in London, was sent home on sick leave in November. He was 22.

Gerald Brooker 1433757 , died in St. Peter's RNA hospital , Columbo, of acute anterior poliomyelitis, 4 days After the onset of symptoms. He had been admitted to SSQ suffering from pyrexia but within 18 hours had developed paralysis of both thighs and neck rigidity and transferred to Number 54 Indian General hospital, and then to the iron lung at St. Peter's Naval hospital

Ronald Edward Jenkins 1151216 , a medically discharged Airmen at the time of his death, described as a meat salesman, died at 23 Barry Terrace, Pontypridd of laryngitis secondary to pulmonary tuberculosis.
