Hi Alex

You are correct, my comment referred to the original posting, before you edited it, which implied it was Watson and Palmer.

Cheers

Hi Alex,

WAAF
SOUTH AFRICA
MARAIS, E - Air Cpl - F/263966 - WAAF(SAAF) - Johannesburg ( West Park ) Crematorium Memorial, Gauteng, South Africa.

The (tentative?) identity in the database for this airwoman is not correct (Emmie Hester Elizabeth Marais (http://www.rafcommands.com/database/wardead/details.php?qnum=28513)).

I have found a Death Notice from South Africa for 'Eileen Agnus Marais (born Barlow), (No. 263966 A/Cpl E A Barlow, WAAF)', died 25 Feb 46 at Johannesburg General Hospital, aged 38 y 7mo. Parents and husband's names match also to the CWGC.

Using the above, I also found a 'Certificate of Death on Service with the Union Defence Forces' for F 263966 Corporal Eileen Marais (nee Barlow) - died of 'Carcinoma of Bladder Paralytic Ileus'
