There was also an Auster AOP.5 - TJ218 crash in Java, Netherlands East Indies on this date, but it is unclear if the "Observer" was killed or not.
The pilot Captain I.R.L.Lamont was injured, but the Observer was killed. (Ref: "Final Landings").
However haveing looked on CWGC site it only gives one Army personnel in Indonesia, recorded as a cook?
SALAMAT, Ullah - Cook - 180803 - Indian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers, 558. Indian Infantry Brigade Workshops. Jakarta War Cemetery, Indonesia.
An explanation could be that the Observer died of injuries at a later date ?
