Alex, Simon, et al,
Lots and lots of "ifs and buts" about this - but here goes:-
Bernal has a Jamaican RAF Number (Block 713000-715899)
Allocation Start Date 1 Dec 1943
Allocation End Date 31 Aug 1944??? (The next Jamaican Block Allocated wef 1 Sep 1944)
Span 274 days.
Maths (??) shows that he might have become A Number on Mon 6 Dec 1943!
Don't know when he Registered/Voluteered/Enlisted/was Mobilised.
If he was 18 when any of the above took place (and they were, probably in WW2, all close fairly together?) then he was probably born in 1925?

Nice work there, but I think I've found him on ancestry.com - I don't have a worldwide membership, but can see the previews of the records.

There's a Stanley Hope Bernal listed as being born June 17th 1914, at Kingston, Jamaica, son of Egbert Orboina Bernal and Clara Bell Bernal, nee Trealleven. He was married on December 29th 1943 to Daphne May Brownie, the marriage taking place also in Kingston.

I can't see him on FreeBMD, ancestry.co.uk, nor Scotland's People.
