What caused the death of and/or what were the places of death registration for:

AC2 James A. GRANT - 1009370 - killed on active service;
LAC (Pilot u/t) Edmund J. McGRATH - 1256401 - killed on active service;
LAC (Pilot u/t) Francis W. SHEARMUR - 915704 - killed on active service;
LAC (Pilot u/t) Robert MacL. STEVEN - 964226 - killed on active service, and
AC2 Sidney W. SUMMERELL - 997777 - not found Flight archives.

Proposed aircraft losses for this day:

Hurricane I - V7023 - 79 sqn - crashed in forced landing beach at Bodorgan, Anglesey.
Master I - N7600 - 8 FTS - flew into ground near Old Meldrum, Aberdeenshire.
Tiger Moth II - R4940 - 3 EFTS - crashed on approach Watchfield.
Tiger Moth II - T7152 - 14 EFTS - damaged byond repair in accident (location not known).
Tiger Moth - BB756 - 22 EFTS - crashed on take-off Kenley.

Edmund J. McGRATH - aged 29, Wokingham, 1940 Q4.
Francis W. SHEARMUR - aged 20, Aberdeen. Killed in flying accident (Master I N7600)
LAC (Pilot u/t) Robert MacL. STEVEN aged 26, Aberdeen. Killed in flying accident. (Master I N7600)
Sidney W. SUMMERELL - aged 44, Wallersey, 1940 Q4.

Hurricane I - V7023 - 79 sqn - crashed in forced landing beach at Bodorgan, Anglesey.
Roy Sloan in his book 'Anglesey Air Accidents' lists no loss of life with this accident.

AC2 James A. GRANT - 1009370 - the Liverpool Echo of December 23rd 1940 reported the following:

Liverpool's Most Serious "Blitz"
Merseyside ahd its longest and most serious air "blitz" on Saturdy night [December 21st]. Wave after wave of enemy raiders swept over the district, and in the later stages of the attack, some of them dived to drop their bombs.
Two members of the clerical staff of the Roman Catholic church, and several other people, including a solider [sic] named James Grant, who was home on leave, were killed when a bomb struck a shelter in the clubroom attached to the church.

LAC (Pilot u/t) Edmund J. McGRATH - 1256401 - the Graves Registration Report records him as being aiwth 13 E.F.T.S., and the Andrews Newspaper Index records him as "killed in flying accident."

James Ernest Daniel Forrest-Adams ( only ADAMS in his records) 1168629 , attached to RAF Horsham St. Faith, was admitted dangerously ill to SSQ, where he died the same day at 20:30 Hours of cerebro spinal meningitis
