Pilot Officer Neville George Clevely HEATH
is dismissed the service by sentence of
General Court Martial. 2oth Sept. 1937.

Because of issue of Mess Funds while with 19 Sqn at Duxford

He is of course this executed murderer

The point is he re-served in RAF (via SAAF) as "James Robert Cadogan Armstrong"

He was pilot of a 180 Sqn B-25 lost on 29 October 1944 attacking Venlo Bridge in Holland. Can any one ID this aircraft. The crew bailed out of it

Thanks I knew this had come up before somewhere but could not find it!

Apparently 0n 15 March 1937, Pilot Officer Heath was transferred to Mildenhall to join 73 Squadron. And he absconded from here March 22

Detailed for cross-country non-operational training flight. The proposed route was Blyton-Alston-Mull of Galloway-St Davids Head to position 53.40N:3.35W to Bury St Edmunds to Blyton.

The aircraft last reported in at about 4.15pm in a position off the Mull of Galloway, but nothing was heard from the aircraft after that and it did not return to base.
