Dear all,
Another little update on the Nachtjagd Combat Archive series: today, we have finished work on the proofs of the first volume in the series, covering 1939-mid-1941. It will go to the printers in three days, and is due to be published on the 9th October by Wing Leader.
Hope you'll like the new volume! We will now concentrate on the NCA volumes for the second half of 1941 and 1942.

Theo,
Thanks for the update. I always aim to buy a copy of your new work as soon as it is released by Wing Leader. The books are most impressive.
As an aside, are you amenable to receiving information on BC losses for your future books? If you are, how best to send it to you?

Can you please advise as to how many books in all will make up this series - may break this pensioner's budget?!

Hello Erroll,
The series will in the end amount to between 12 and 15 volumes. It's tough cramming some 1.3 million words plus some 1400 photos into one book ..

I suppose the alternative would be one book but with very small print and pix accompanied by a complimentary strong magnifying glass!

Many of us will have in our libraries the two volumes which comprise the "Nachtjagd War Diaries" written by Theo Boiten and Rod Mackenzie, published in 2008. This work attempted to reconcile Bomber Command losses with Nachtjagd claims and as such was the most thoroughly researched and reliable reference on the matter. Move forward ten years and the follow-up series is being published, again by Red Kite but in a different format. Such was the appeal of the original books that a great deal of extra information and photographs have become available to Theo and Rod over the intervening years - Theo estimates the final content will be in the region of 1.3 million words and 1400 photographs! So the books, probably 12 to 15 in number, are issued in "bite-sized chunks", A4 size with soft covers produced on top quality paper.
Currently four have been published, the most recent one hot off the press is "The Early Years Part 1, 1939 - 12 July 1941". Preceding that issue was 1943 Part 1 (1 January - 22 June), Part 2 (23 June - 22 September) and Part 3 (23 September - 31 December). Each volume has 128 pages of fascinating data, photographs (very many previously unpublished) and colour maps analysing specific operations showing the target, the bombers' route, positions of known RAF losses and also those for the Luftwaffe. The maps are a welcome innovation for this series, the written text follows the same format as the NJWD of dates of operations, a description of the bomber force and the Nachtjagd's response. Each volume costs £20.00, available from www.wingleader.co.uk

The schedule is that we will first release two vols for 1941-42 (a vol covering July-May 42 has been sent to the printers last week so should be out by the end of January, this will be followed by the remainder of 1942 by April 2019). We will then focus on 1944, an est. 3 to 4 vols covering 1944 will be released in around July 2019 - early 2020, followed by 1945 in 2020.

Your message folder being full, sorry I didn't find any other way to get back in touch with you.
Just went back to old messages, and wonder if you ever read my answer in 2019 about W7436 Stirling. I'm writing a second book and think to additions/corrections to number one to be added. So I also would be much interested to see what were the pictures you mentioned.

Dear all,
Over the last few weeks, I've received a number of enquiries as to when the Nachtjagd Combat Archive 1944 Vol. 4 will be published. There's a bit of a delay with the production of the NCA 1944 vol 4, Wingleader Publishing told me yesterday that it will be out next month, in January 2021. This volume will cover the period of 24 July - 16 October 1944.
Will post an update as soon as the new vol is out.

Dear all -finally, after a number of (mainly) Brexit-related delays, some good news on the next volume in the Nachtjagd Combat Archive series:
https://www.wingleader.co.uk/shop/na...1944-part-four
And please also notice the following announcement taken from the Wingleader Facebook page:
To all our European Collectors.
It finally looks as if nearly all the European book orders placed in the past couple of months have now arrived safely. Some took just a few days, some up to a month, some came through with no import duty, some had crazy fees demanded. The overall impression is that the European postal and customs staff are still struggling to understand exactly what was agreed in the Brexit talks, (to be honest, so are we!) We've therefore spoken to some big European specialist bookshops and they will try to stock as many of our titles as possible from now on so that you can order them from within the EU. We haven't made the links clickable in this mail for spam reasons but just copy and paste the web addresses into your browser. Our European collectors are still of course welcome to order directly from us, but ordering from these EU shops could be easier for you in the current confusion.

Dear all,
I have received many questions over the past few weeks from readers of the series on the publication date of the Nachtjagd Combat Archive 1944 Part 5, so here's a little update. Due to vital new information that I added to some of the Nachtjagd victory listings in the manuscript of this volume in the NCA series, Wingleader has to do major redesigning of this volume, which unfortunately causes some extra delay in the publication process.
Will keep you posted on developments!
