ADAM, William Caldow - F/O - 202663 - the Statutory Deaths Register on the Scotland's People website records that he died at 6.15 a.m. at the Royal Infirmary, Perth, due to a fractured skull the result of a motor vehicle accident.

BELL, John - F/Lt - 118218 - the Lincolnshire Echo of August 19th 1946 reported the following:

Inquest on Airman: “Perfectly Sober”
Reference to “evilly disposed persons who might say that because a man had been on licensed premises he had had too much to drink,: was made by the Sleaford District Coroner (Mr. E. C. Deal) at the inquest on Flight-Lieut. John Bell (42), R.A.F. regiment, who died at Raunceby R.A.F. Hospital on August 6.
Four days previously Bell, whose home is in Douglas, IOM, was found lying unconscious on the camp road at Folkingham with his cycle lying on top of him.
Recording a verdict of “Misadventure” the Coroner said: “On the evidence before me I find that this man was perfectly sober and capable of riding his cycle safely. I find that as a fact because I have no doubt there are evilly opposed persons who might suggest that because he had been in a licensed premises he had had too much to drink.”
…He said that there was no reason to accept any suggestion that he was riding too fast.
