Hi all

I have found an entry in the Fighting Area (predecessor to 11 Group) ORB for January 1927 stating that "Santain starters were fitted to four aircraft of No. 41(F) Sqn. They were not very satisfactory."

I can find no reference anywhere to Santain starters. Has anyone come across them in their research who can tell me anything about them, please? For what it's worth, 41 Sqn was flying Siskin IIa's at the time.

Thanks
Steve

Steve, Hi,
Never heard of 'em - but it's not my line of country!
Assuming (!!!) the original spelling is correct(?), and if nobody comes up with the answer then you might have to email the Shuttleworth Collection engineers! And if they don't know then it looks as if you might have a real big problem!!

Thanks Peter, yeah, strange one. They're mentioned again a little while later in the ORB as "Saintain" (slight change in spelling) gas starters, but I still can't find anything on them.

Hi Steve

Could be a construction like this, made by a another company, name until now not identified.
