The Scotsman of August 31st 1946 reported the following:

SCOTS AMONGST MISSING RATINGS - Two of the three air mechanics missing from the naval whaler belonging to the Fleet Air Arm that capsized in the Cromarty Firth on Wednesday are Scots. They are Andrew McVeigh, 364 Argyle Street, Glasgow, and Frank Henderson, 63 Langside Avenue, Shortees, Kilmarnock. The third man is John Rowlandson [sic], Gas Street, Failsworth, Manchester. William Hammond, Park Farm, Mancelter, Warwickshire, was drowned, and David Hayward, 46 Hurst Road, Walthamstowe, is still dangerously ill in hospital.

On the previous day, the same newspaper reported that six crew had been rescued.

BEYER, Hugo - GAF - the Stautopry Deaths Register on the Scotland's People website records that he dieda t 3.10 p.m. at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, due to mediastinal sarcoma and cardiac failure. He is listed as a 'Private, German Army (Prisoner of War),' and his home town was Becklingen.

Hi all,

CRAWFORD, Leonard Wallace - AC2c - 18005A - RCAF.
Nanaimo Public Cemetery, British Columbia, Canada.

Post-discharge death. Discharged on 12.3.40 on medical grounds.
Cause of death:Pulmonary TB, Pulmonary Haemorrhage.
Died in Nanaimo General Hospital
