I am trying to find Operational Service Records for RFC/RAF units/stations. The first place I looked was the National Archives. I cannot find there under any of the search terms I used. I am particularly interested in 4TDS Hooton Park. Can anyone give me any guidance on this,
Thank you

Hi David,
I normally only look at the General Category form on RAF Commands so I'm sorry that I have only just come across your query. I think this (the General Category) is the category most used by members so it is probably the best one in which to pose queries.
That said I suggest you join the Great War Forum at https://www.greatwarforum.org/ and post the query in the War in the Air section. This is devoted to WW1 matters and there are some very knowledgeable people there. I would be surprised if you didn't receive some guidance from this link.
For a start (although it doesn't answer your question) have a look at https://www.greatwarforum.org/topic/119372-training-squadron-locations/ which includes Hooton Park's name. It will give some idea of the cross-section of information which comes to light. Also https://www.greatwarforum.org/topic/256357-id-rfc-unit/ .
Another good WW1 forum is Cross & Cockade at https://www.crossandcockade.com/forum/default.asp
Have you tried the Hooton Park Trust at http://www.hootonparktrust.co.uk/history1.html
Good hunting
Brian
