Hi all,
I am happy about finishing my project, the book about the first larger raid against Duesseldorf and Neuss (German language).
In the night of 31.7./1.8.1942 630 RAF bombers were on their way to drop their bombs on one of the major industrial cities of Germany. A large part of the town had been destroyed, around 250 inhabitants died in Duesseldorf, 34 in the neighbouring town of Neuss. Bomber Command lost 29 a/c.
In my book I have written about the planing and carrying out the raid, the effects on Duesseldorf and the fates of the RAF/RCAF flyers etc.
Thanks to all who answered some of my questions concering specific topics.
Best wishes.
Marcel
