Although few readers of this forum are within 100 miles of Nanton, Alberta, those that are might be interested in the following:

On Saturday, August 23rd, the Nanton Lancaster Air Museum will be celebrating the Fiftieth Anniversary of the last flight of its Lancaster Bomber with a full day of activities.

For the first time in fifty years, two of the Lancaster’s V-12 Merlins will be started. This is the legendary engine that played a critical role in the winning of World War II. It powered almost all the fighters and bombers that were flown by the Canadians and the British and even the American’s Mustang fighter.
