What caused the death of and/or what were the places of death registration for:

LAC Geoffrey A.S. BLAKE - 1259650 - killed on active service, and
AC2 Ralph H. PRICE - 1104809 - not found Flight archives.

Proposed aircraft losses for this day:

Hind I - K6845 - 1 FTS - crashed in forced landing Hatherden, 3 miles N of Andover.
Master I - T8569 - 5 FTS - crashed on take-off at night Ternhill, Shropshire.

Regards and thanks for your help.
Henk.

Hi Henk
Blake, 19, is registered at Whitchurch. The problem is that there are 2 Registration Offices with the name Whitchurch. One is in Shropshire, and could put him on Master T 8569, and the other is in Hampshire and could be right for an incident near Andover,K6845! Andover itself is also a registry Office and I would expect any death on the Hart to be reported there as it is so close. Price ,26, is registered at Ruthin, Denbighshire, N Wales an area that includes Llanbedr
Regards
Dick

Thanks Dick. For Whitchurch and Blake I think, we need the help of other friends.

Henk.

Blake was the sole occupant of T8569 and died when he collided with hangers during a night take off.

Cheers, Tom

AUS26379 (CWGC: 26739) Cpl Reginald S. BURDUS - 3 (RAAF) Sqn reported 'Died of wounds or injuries received on active service' in Flight 25-9-1941 page 206A. His name is commemorated Column 246 of the Alamein Memorial. Could he have been one of the names included on a list compiled by the Directorate of War Graves Services of members who couldn't be located or who were considered lost in the minefields by the graves registration units which completed their operations in the Middle East area in 1946 and further search had been abandoned ? (Minute Paper, Department of Air, 30-9-1946 in file of AUS400035 F/O Alan R. BASTER - RAAF - 3 (RAAF) Sqn - who was killed 8-1-1942).
Regards,
Henk.
