What caused the death of and/or what were the places of death registration for:

LAC (Pilot u/t) George E. ABBETT - 1375685;
LAC (Pilot u/t) George W. GRUNDY - 1014563, and
LAC (Pilot u/t) Douglas THOMSON - 1376765.

Proposed aircraft losses for this day:

Master I - N7627 - 8 FTS - crashed on approach Edzell.
Oxford I - L4612 - 3 FTS - collided with another aircraft on approach, South Cerney.
Oxford II - W6567 - 3 FTS - damaged 28-4-1941 and SOC 6-5-1941 (involved with L4612 ?)

Abbett was killed in N7627, below is the entry from the 8 FTS ORB.

April 28th 1941, “No.1375685 LAC Abbett, G.E., killed in N7627. Stalled in precautionary
landing practice, and died of injuries the same day. Investigation held by Wing Commander
Simpson on 1st May.”

Hello Henk
George W. GRUNDY age 25 death registered at Cirencester.
Douglas THOMSON age 29 death also registered at Cirencester.
Every possibility they are linked to the loss of the 3 FTS Oxfords at South Cerney.

LAC (Pilot u/t) Douglas THOMSON - 1376765 - the Graves Registration Report Forms for both airmen confirm they were with 3 F.T.S.

Cecil Webber 621163, was fatally wounded by enemy action

Cyril Webber 621163 | Attached to Number 53 RSU | ( NOT 53 Squadron as per CWGC ) was seriously wounded in an air raid on 24 April, and was admitted to Number 189 Field ambulance, where he died at 18:50 Hours of a perforating wound of the large intestine
