I am researching my father’s brother, F/lt Roy Mottram RAF 42870 ex 92 and 54 Squadrons RAF, particularly his time at 14FTS Kinloss. I have his photo Album and I am trying to put names to faces on some of his photos.
he was at Kinloss from 7th November 1939 until March 1940 and I have identified some of his colleagues who were also there with him:-
Cecil Henry (Sam) Saunders 42896 (92 & 74 Squadron)
Maurice Hewlett (Mark) Mounsdon 42871 (56 Squadron)
Robert Roland (Shaun) Briscoe 42795 (228 Squadron)
Roderick Frank Harman 42834
Murray Montgomery Mair 42858
Peter Dennis Short 42896 (70 Squadron)
Michael Frank Suckling 42907 (1 PRU)
Roy was previously at 3 E&RFTS at Burnaston from August to October 1939 as was Mark Mounsdon and Sam Saunders.
I was wondering if anyone has already researched The flying Schools and would have course lists.
